eCapital is looking for engaging, client centric, functional Consulting Directors to join our Enterprise Performance Management Practice and help drive our continued growth.  This Director will have strong foundational consulting and program management skills and experience within the domains of Controllership including consolidations, financial reporting, account reconciliations and transaction matching including exposure to Analytics and Automation in these areas.  While this role is not primarily technical, it will partner with our strong enterprise performance management, analytic and automation technology teams to deliver solutions for clients.  The Consulting Director will have had some exposure to enterprise performance management systems within Gartner’s Magic Quadrant and familiar with the general features and functionalities within enterprise performance management systems and related implementation programs.

Our preference is for this role to have strong experience within the OneStream Controllership ecosystem including leading project lifecycle for OneStream implementations related to Controllership capabilities.

This role is a fundamental step in our leadership career path including continuous, direct interactions with client and firm leadership delivering for our clients and helping to bring the best of eCapital.  Our Consulting Director’s are the primary day-to-day leaders working shoulder to shoulder with our clients to solve problems and create capabilities managing teams of functional and technical practitioners across a variety of consulting offerings.

Role Expectations / Responsibilities

  • Delivery (~70%):  In partnership with Enterprise Performance Management leaders, plan, manage and deliver complex client engagements as the day-to-day leader engaging shoulder-to-should with our clients while managing firm practitioners to solve our client’s problems and create capabilities.  The Consulting Director will utilize their extensive experience in consulting fundamentals including storyboarding, storytelling, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and content development using a variety of tools, templates, trackers and artifacts.  This includes strong facilitation experience and skills for client and internal workshops, working sessions, interviews and interactions with various client teams and levels including the needed preparation, pre-reviews, meeting delivery, debriefs and the documentation for all aspects of consulting engagements.  The Consulting Director will lead consultants, analysts, and other practitioners to deliver this content and utilize their people management, enablement and inspirational skills and experience to motivate the team, motivate the client and keep eCapital holistically engaged to support the client.
  • Sales & Marketing (~20%):  One of primary functional leaders to support sales cycles for EPM Controllership offerings.  Participate tactically and strategically in the sales process to help close key client opportunities including listening to clients wants, synthesizing and identifying client needs, developing content to help clients understand offerings and solutions to help them solve problems and create capabilities.  Participate in discovery sessions, manage practitioners to compile content for client sessions.  Support scoping for process/functional and or technical proof of concepts or prototyping.  Support leadership with pricing and resourcing for engagements leveraging lessons learned, scope clarification and resource optimization balancing practitioner development and delivery execution. Lead efforts to delivery proof-of-concepts or pilots as part of the sales process.
  • Talent & Practice Development (10%):  Lead, manage, identify, recruit, hire and develop talent to deliver for our clients while also helping our practitioners align to career paths and realize their potential.  Develop thought leadership based on industry and client experiences and various use cases to help demonstrate how offerings will add value to clients.
  • Analytics:  Partner with OneStream leadership and the eCapital Analytic leadership team to further expand the bridge between Analytics and EPM and OneStream’s role in empowering our clients through world-class analytics aligned directly to a unified finance platform.  This includes developing client prototypes, go to market offerings, thought leadership, methodologies and technical options related to Analytics and OneStream.
  • EPM Controllership Domain Experience:  This role will be expected to have strong experience, knowledge and thought leadership that spans various EPM Controllership domain areas including consolidations, financial reporting, account reconciliations and transaction matching.  Preferred is the ability to understand cross-functional concepts from Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, Manufacturing, etc…and to translate those challenges and opportunities into solutions enabled through the OneStream platform

Required Qualifications

Consulting

  • Minimum of 5+ years delivering large, complex EPM consulting engagements as a functional leader in the EPM Controllership domain managing teams while partnering closely with technical leadership managing both technical and functional team members to successfully deliver EPM Controllership implementations across the entire lifecycle from sales to post go live support
  • Extensive experience in delivering including developing and refining methodologies and approaches and leading/managing teams in the delivery lifecycle including a blend of waterfall, hybrid and agile models.
  • Demonstrated strong capabilities communicating (written, oral, non-verbal) functional concepts and needs effectively and efficiently with technical team members and key client non-technical end users.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the EPM marketplace and in particular the functional dynamics across EPM tool options and the functional perspective of next generation capabilities tying into the impacts of design and architecture of OneStream solutions.
  • Experience in project management and delivery including estimating, resourcing, pricing and development of quality assurance protocols, tollgate risk management and critical path factors for a sustainable client OneStream solution adopted by the enterprise.
