As a planner and avid PBCS user, it is possible you have subscriptions to numerous Oracle cloud offerings, or may leverage multiple planning applications. In the past, you had to log in and log out of each of your environments one by one, or open multiple web browsers to use all of them at once. This is an inconvenience we did not have in the on-premise solution. If this describes you, I have a simple solution for you that will save time and frustration!
Multiple cloud environments can now be brought together with ‘My Connections.’ This feature connects all applications and subscriptions, which you have access to, within the simplified interface. In this view, you can easily jump from environment to environment without having to log in and out or open multiple tabs. This feature can also now be included in the Navigation Flows that customize the homepage. Using this integrated business process, you can customize ‘My Connections’ for users and groups to springboard to all of their cloud subscriptions.
The Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud subscriptions that are currently available for ‘My Connection’ are:
- Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud
- Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud
Target subscriptions only:
- Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud
- Oracle Profitability and Cost Management Cloud
- Oracle Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud
You must have access to all other subscriptions to add them to ‘My Connections.’ All artifacts are accessible based on the user’s role. To set up your connections, you must go to Tools > Connections > Actions > Add Connection, and you will find all of your possible subscriptions to add to ‘My Connections.’
Once you have your ‘My Connections’ set up, you will easily be able to move from environment to environment by simply clicking the connection logo, opening the target in a new tab, saving you time and frustration!
Stay tuned for Part 2 in this series, where we will look at adding a Connection to a Navigation Flow.
